For me, it is vital for one to keep up with the news, especially national and world news. Yes, it is important to read local news as well as it pertains to you a lot more, however, world and national news affect everyone on the planet. Even though I would love to read more world news, I don't have access to one like I do the Billings Gazette. When I lived in Paris, I would read the International New York Times because it was easy to buy. Here in Billings such newspapers are more expensive. I find this a shame because people should constantly be up to date with what is happening in the world. The reality is, if you have time to check Snapchat or Instagram, then you definitely have time to browse the New York Times website. Many do not know the President of France's name or can tell you what the yellow jackets are protesting. Is this normal? Not at all. This is a sad reflection of the next generation. It won't be long before there are no more paper newspapers and people look at instagram and buzzfeed for their news.

These three articles are fascinating in their own respective ways. First off, Trump and his relentless pursuit of the border wall. The article talks about the wall in general and some possible compromises that the government might agree to. This issue has been highly debated and looks to be turning in circles. North Carolina's favorite son remembers the great Micheal Jordan as the all star game is heading to Jordan's home state of North Carolina this weekend. Lastly, the sudden split between Naomi Osaka and her coach who brought her to star status is quite surprising. The pair were on an absolute tear sweeping the past two grand slams and rising to world no. 1. This is even more impressive as Osaka is the first Asian male or female to be ranked no 1 in the world. The article does not state why the two split but it leaves the reader wondering.
